Cheezy Cheese Balls

T.H.E  R.A.M.B.L.I.N.G.S

Who is the greediest lady on earth?
Me! Me!.. tergedik gedik ngaku tuh! Hehehehe....

Spent the whole morning, re-arranging all my recipe printouts. If I really file them up nicely, I am very sure I have at least 5 fat files! But how many of those recipes printed that I've tried out? I am very sure, the answer will be... not even one thin file! Hahahaha....

Well, there's a saying in Bahasa Malaysia... sediakan payung sebelum hujan (get an umbrella ready before it rains). So in my case, get those recipes ready before your mood vanishes! Haha.. you will never know when you will be in mood to do stuffs in the kitchen!

T.H.E  R.E.C.I.P.E

Thank you Mak Lang Azie and Kak Chak for sharing this easy yet lovely recipe with us.

Lempeng Kelapa

T.H.E R.A.M.B.L.I.N.G.S

To me, reading can sometimes be hazardous. I have just finished reading YANG MANIS by Marissa. It's a nice story of a lady with such determination to go for what she thinks is best for her. And as far as I could remember, I didn't shed a tear reading this book. This situation is very RARE when it comes to MamaFaMi. OMG OMG OMG... where have my soft feelings gone to?Huhuhu... But the feeling like wanting to punch someone on the face is there! Hahahaha.. oh thank God, I am still my usual ol' self! Hahahaha...

Oh well, that is not the hazardous part that I meant to say, it's the mention of food in the book that is hazardous especially to someone who is so lazy to be in the kitchen, like me! Huhuhu.. But luckily it was just a 'lempeng kelapa' (coconut pancake), which is quite effortless to prepare. And so, we had that for tea yesterday! Thanks to Marissa for the idea. My mom had a broad smle on her face when I served her the pancakes with the sambal. She had a second helping infact. Alhamdulillah....

Onion Pancake II

F.O.R T.H.E S.O.U.L

"Forgiveness is not for the weak.

Being able to forgive those who have wronged you is a mark of spiritual strength and confidence.

When you forgive, you grow, your heart begins to heal, your back straightens up, your eyes clear so that you can see the road ahead.

Anger is a spiritual sickness, but when you forgive, you live."

~ Mufti Ismail Menk ~

T.H.E R.E.C.I.P.E

This morning, I have no idea what to serve mom for her breakfast. She is still on soft diet, so nasi lemak is out of the story. Not only it is hard but also spicy. After sending the boys to school, I went straight into the kitchen and wallah.. an idea popped into my head. Why not make some Onion Pancake as there is some chicken curry leftovers.

I was too lazy to check my blog for the recipe that I once made before, so I just chuck in whatever I feel and think approriate! Hahaha... like people use to say..."kita yang buat dia".. so yes, this was what I managed to produce. And I must say, it tasted better than the previous one... or was I that hungry just now? Ahahahahaha.....

Homemade Peanut Butter

T.H.E R.A.M.B.L.I.N.G.S

A few days ago, I came across one post on my daughter's Facebook wall. A friend of hers wrote, he dreamt that my daughter and I opened a cafe and there were a lot of tasty food!!

OMG... I have never met this friend of hers and I am not sure if he had tasted any of the food that I've prepared and still he dreamt that I own a cafe. So sweet of you Ainul Haqkim. You've made my day... Though I am quite sure your dream won't come true, but I will keep that as my dream too... who knows one day, everything might change.... *wink*
And perhaps, these will be my cafe's menu.... ahaha... dream on mama....

T.H.E R.E.C.I.P.E

Last Sunday, I wanted to try a recipe from Makchu's book. I had all the ingredients, except one, and the main one it seems! I was just too lazy to go to the shop to get this one ingredient. Luckily my brain was working that day and I googled for the homemade peanut butter recipe.... And since I am still in the state of being lazy, I just grabbed whatever peanut available, so maybe, my peanut butter is not as healthy as it should be... hahaha.. nevertheless, I have peanut butter without having to go to the shop and get a bottle!!

Instant Chicken Tempura Foldovers

T.H.E R.A.M.B.L.I.N.G.S

Assalamualaikum everyone!

It is 6th Ramadhan today. It means that we've fasted for 5 days plus now. Time flies. I felt like we've just started and the true fact is, it's almost a week now.

This morning I was listening to Radio ERA, while doing my morning walks. And yes, I am still walking during Ramadhan. So far, I hadn't miss much, only twice in 2 months' time. Good eh? Aja aja fighthing mama!!! Okay, back to Radio ERA, Johera was talking about missing sehri. Well, for us today, we didn't miss sehri but we woke up a bit too early from the usual time. Thank you to Miss Fatin! Gosh! She didn't sleep the whole night because she was doing her programming. It was 4 am when she woke me up. And me, without checking the time, came down and prepare for sehri. After we were done, when I looked at the clock, it was only 4.48 am. Grrrrr Fatinnnnnnnnn!!!!!! Normally we will wake up at 4.45am, and today, we were done eating by 4.48am! So moral of the story, never jump out of the bed without checking the time first! Huhuhu......

T.H.E R.E.C.I.P.E

Just to share something simple and quick that you can prepare for iftaar. Especially for those who are lazy busy and who has limited time to prepare food for iftaar. I made these last Monday and will be making it again today, but using fish nuggets.

This is convenient especially for those who are rushing to go somewhere just after Iftaar. In my case, this is suitable for my son whose tuition classes starts at 8 pm. Once he broke the fast, he'll just pray Maghrib, grab these foldovers and jumped in the car and we'll drive him to the tuition centre. Now that the traffic is heavier compared to before, we had to start our journey earlier than before... be patient dik.. another few more months to go... we can do it!!! Phew.....

Anyway, this is how I go about doing the foldovers...

- Remove the tortillas from the packet.
- Heat a bit of oil on a grill pan
- Grill the tortillas 1 minute per side
- Remove from the grill

- Fry the nuggets till golden brown
- Once cooled, slice to 1cm thick

- Clean the vegetables and cut to bite size

- On a piece of tortilla, spread the vegetables
- Toss the sliced chicken tempura nuggets
- Pipe some mayonaise
- Pipe some Thousand Island sauce
- Wrap the tortillas neatly.

And enjoy!!!

Take care and have a nice day!

Jemput-jemput stok ikan bilis

T.H.E R.A.M.B.L.I.N.G.S

I had deactivated my Facebook account last 28th February, 2011. It's been like almost 1 1/2 months, I am FB-less. How's life without FB? Well, I'm fine by that actually, though the only thing that I miss so much are my list of friends, be it old or new..... especially those who always pop-in to say hi or leave sweet, sometimes naughty, but thank God not rude, comments on my wall. All those sweet lil' things that brought colors to my wall... that, I really miss....

Pstt... but yesterday, MamaFaMi was online on Facebook, for about 20 minutes! Did anybody realise? I bet not... because mama knows when to make her silent entrance! Hahaha...

Anyway, to those who kept asking, when will I be coming back to Facebook... the only answer that I can give, at the moment is..... only time can tell.... When I read the comments left in my blog or my email regarding my disappearance, it's kinda sweet actually.... some said, they miss the photos that I normally post on my wall (but that can also be viewed in my blog), some said, they miss my status... and even sweeter... some said, they miss my good morning and good nite wishes... huhuhu.... I heart all of you..... muah.....

T.H.E R.E.C.I.P.E

Mama's been behaving like a sweet housewife today! She cooked for breakfast, she cooked for lunch, do the laundries, swept and mopped the house... all sparkling nice and clean.... It's VERY RARE to get mama behaving like this... Why mama? Hehe... because dear hubby is at home! Hahaha... pecah tembelang.....

Anyway, for breakfast we had Jemput-jemput Stok Ikan Bilis. And I can't deny, it tasted good this morning.... How come? Because I'm hungry! Hahaha...

JEMPUT-JEMPUT STOK IKAN BILIS

1/3 anchovies (ikan bilis) cube - mixed with hot water till dissolve
1/2 onion ~ sliced

2. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
3. Heat oil. Take a spoonful of the bater and drop it in the hot oil. Fry till golden brown.
4. Ready to eat! Best eaten with Thai Sweet Chillie.

Note :

Pharata Rolls with Hotdog Filling

T.H.E R.A.M.B.L.I.N.G.S

How cruel can a mom be!!!

Last Saturday night fever, I was watching TV in my room. Hubby was watching his golf on the TV downstairs. Fatin decided to join me. When I look at the TV guide, the next movie will be PENANGGAL. An evil naughty idea struck me. Fatin asked me, what's the meaning of penanggal and I said innocently, maybe it's tanggal or tercabut (came off). For the true meaning of Penanggal, please click here.

She obediently lay down next to me and we she watch the movie with interest. As for naughty me, when it came to the scary part, I will just busy myself with my phone or with my book, without Fatin noticing! Hahaha... After a while she became jumpy and I just enjoyed myself teasing her and then laughed my heart out! The last 15 minutes of the movie, I off the lights in the room to give a better effect. While she's shivering under her blanket (oh yeah, she had brought along the big blanket as well to be her shield! Muahahahaha), I nicely dozed off to dreamland.... hahahahahahahahaha......

The next morning she told me that she didn't sleep well. And you know what did I reply? Why did you continue watching then. I, in the first place, don't really want to watch the movie!!! Hahahahahaha.... pity my girl...

So....how cruel can a mom be....... ahahahahahahahaha.....

T.H.E R.E.C.I.P.E

Last weekend, I had a lovely time, doing nothing much, especially on Sunday. I spent most of the time, dating going out with hubby and if we are at home, just lazying in front of the TV. My God, how lovely and how relaxed it was. If I can do that more often, how nice.....

Since I haven't tried anything new, let me just post this simple recipe that I had tried, after being inspired by Diana aka Sky Blue's Tortilla Ayam Sayuran. But being in a L.A.Z.Y mode, I had totally change the ingredients to suit my laziness! So here's roughly what I had done. But I bet, Diana's tortilla is way nicer then these...

Make your own Yummy Cheesey Wedges!

T.H.E R.A.M.B.L.I.N.G.S

Syahmi is not well today. He's body was warm yesterday night and before he went to bed, I had given him some fever tablets, pasted the Kool Fever on his forehead and place a few damp towels under his armpits, on his tummy and under his neck. This morning, he's not 100% fit but he still goes to school as he's having his first term examinations. Told him to call me soonest possible if he thinks he needs to come home. Meanwhile, I am praying hard that his fever would go. Hate it when other family members are sick. If only I could swap places, I wouldn't mind swapping because then I know what I must do to get rid of the fever. I just hope he's okay in school.....

Yesterday evening, I had prepared these for dinner. But still, at 10.40pm, we went out to have tea! Loving it... not the 'eating and drinking' part but the 'ride at night' part! Hahaha... there's still a kid in me, whom will never grow up... i guess...

When I was in Facebook before, someone had tagged me on this one product. Infact many had tagged me with their products but those that I am not interested in, I will just leave it as it is and those with many replies to the post, I would have to remove it from my wall as my email will start piling up and I had to keep deleting them. That irritates me sometime.

Those products that I find interesting and might be useful to others, I would gladly help tag my friends. Who knows they would be interested too. Anyway, during my 'journey' in the cyber world, I came across this recipe at Nazian Nasir's Facebook wall and thought of giving it a try. Thank you Nazian for sharing the recipe with us. It's easy to prepare and nice to enjoy with a cup of tea.. Allow me to post the recipe here for my future reference and who knows, maybe there are others who are interested to try.

cheddar cheese - grated
Thousand Island
French fries

Method :

1. Roll together two slices of bread. Cut the edges. Set aside.
2. Heat oil in a wok. Dip the rolled bread into the egg and coat it with breadcrumbs.
3. Fry till golden brown. The bread will puff up. Remove the bread and onto a kitchen towel.
4. Meanwhile, for the filling, slice the blanched sausages. Heat a bit of olive oil and saute the onion till translucent. Add in beef sausages and a few dashes of blackpepper. Remove from heat.
5. Cut the fried bread diagonally. Open up the middle by making a slit using a sharp knife to reveal the pocket.
6. Fill up with the filling and the garnish. Serve with french fries.

Wow... it's so quiet in here eh? Where has the owner gone to?
Oh, she went Cuti-cuti Malaysia!
Where to?
To find out more, please go here

Here's wishing all of you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011.

T.H.E R.E.C.I.P.E

This morning, I don't really know what to prepare for breakfast. What's more, my mood is still not switched to 'back to reality' mode, so it makes thinking, slightly harder! Hahaha... I had surfed the internet for club sandwich recipe, but wasn't in the mood to try it out, at least not for today's breakfast. So I went into the kitchen, grab myself a bowl and took out the flour. Added this and that and wallah, this was what we had for breakfast! Alhamdulillah.....

Sorry all, there's no particular measurement as I just chuck everything inside.

Lempeng Bawang & Sambal

LEMPENG BAWANG (Onion pancake)

Ingredients :

Flour
1 egg ~ lightly beaten
1 onion ~ sliced
salt to taste
enough water

Method :

Mix well all the ingredients. The mixture must be slightly thinner than cekodok ikan bilis and thicker than plain pancakes. Keep aside for about 10 minutes or so. Prepare a pan. Add a bit of oil. When it's hot enough, pour 2 ladles of mixture into the pan and spread evenly. Flip over after 3 minutes. Serve with Sambal Ikan Bilis

Bahan-bahan :

Tepung gandum
1 biji telur ~ dipukul sedikit
1 biji bawang besar ~ dihiris
garam secukup rasa
air secukupnya

Kaedah penyediaan :

Terbalikkan selepas 3 minit. Hidangkan bersama sambal ikan bilis
