Rich Chocolate Pudding

F.O.R T.H.E S.O.U.L

Orange and Fruit Cocktail Pudding

Yesterday afternoon, I had two TNB contractors at my house. They came to relocate the TNB meter at our house. They came at around 2 pm. Perfect timing, as I was done with the house chores. Since my house has a three-phase meter, they took more than 2 hours to finish their job. And all that time, I had to switch off the main switch. Cooped up in the house with no electricity. Alhamdulillah, since we had two turbine fan ventilators fixed on the roof, heat is not the main problem for me but BOREDOM.

I just can't stay put... waiting without doing anything. To bake, I have no electricity. Hmmm... I browsed the internet on my phone and came across this pudding recipe at DG's Blog who led me to the recipe creator's blog... Along Roz *clap* *clap**clap*

Well, I do love Milo, and I adore Oreos... but then, my mission now is to clear my stock. I will make something using whatever is available in the fridge, so that my fridge will loose some 'weight'! Hahaha.... So I have transformed Along's recipe into something else! Ampun ya Along..... Thank you to DG for bringing me to Along and thank you Along for the inspiration.

ORANGE AND FRUIT COCKTAIL PUDDING
Posted by MamaFaMi
Inspired by : Along Roz

Ingredients :

5g Agar-agar powder
375g water
100g sugar
200g evaporated milk
2 tablespoons orange sunquick
a few drops of Red Orange food coloring
enough fruit cocktail

Method :

1. Place jelly powder and water in a pot on slow fire and stir until jelly is dissolved. Add in sugar and stir till sugar dissolved.
2. Add in milk and stir on medium heat. Once it starts bubbling, remove from heat.
3. Separate 1 1/2 cups of mixture into a bowl and add orange sunquick and food coloring. Stir to mix. Pour half of the mixture into the tray and let it set 80%.
4. Then pour in the plain mixture on top of the orange layer. Sprinkle with fruit cocktail. (In case the plain mixture has set slightly, place on slow fire and stir before pouring it on top of the orange layer). Let it set 80%.
5. Finally pour the remaining orange mixture on top.
6. Let it set completely at room temperature before chilling it in the refrigerator.
7. Slice and serve chilled.

TIPS FOR LAYERING :

a. Do not wait until the layer is completely set before pouring the next layer, or else it will not stick. If happened, scratch surface with fork before pouring the next layer.
b. Make sure the mixture is still hot when pouring on the earlier layer so that it will stick well.

Yam Icecream Pudding

Hello everyone? Miss me? No? Huhuhu... siapalah diriku untuk dirindui.... ek elehhh... merajuk ler plak... ahahaha...acah je!

Not everything that is 'not nice' (as my daughter had put it) stays not tasty forever. It's up to us to find a good recipe to transform it into something delicious. Or if you're creative enough, you can just create one. What's important here is, nothing goes to waste.

This happened to me last week. Fatin and me went to the shopping centre to get our groceries and she took a small tub of Yam Icecream. After Iftaar, she just can't wait to enjoy her 'dreamed' icecream. But soon as she tasted the icecream, she had this 'silly look' on her face. She said,"Mom, the icecream is not nice". Oh oh.... now what do I do with the balance icecream in the tub???? I googled in the internet for recipes that I can use and wallah.... thank you to Che CT for 'coming' to the rescue! And guess what, the pudding turned out to be lovely! I made just a quarter of the recipe and managed to get 6 puddings. Thank you Cik Ct and Kak Ida for inspiring us with the recipe.

Dragon Fruit Pudding

T.H.E R.A.M.B.L.I.N.G.S

Courtesy is the best policy... or... was it honesty is the best policy? Mmmm.. well, both will do, right. Of course honesty is important in life and so does having courtesy is as important.

This morning, on the way back from sending Syahmi to school, I gave way to a car coming out from the housing area near Syahmi's school. It's nothing new actually. I always give way to others whenever necessary and whenever is right to do so, but I don't know why, this morning, I felt very happy doing so. Maybe, I thought to myself, I made the driver happy by giving him way so that he can drop his son to school in good time. If I were him, I too would be grateful to those who did the same.

If you gave way to others, what do you expect from those you've made their life slightly easier? Well to me, just a slight gesture of thanks would be nice.. like putting up your hand or a nod or maybe just a smile will do. What if that fella just went off without a slight hint of thanks, how would you feel? You must be thinking... i shouldn't have given way to that proud person, right? Moral of the story... just by displaying a bit of courtesy can change the way people thinks about you.. Agree?

T.H.E R.E.C.I.P.E

Last weekend, Harith's (Syahmi's friend) mom, Huda gave me two Dragon Fruits. Since I don't quite like to eat it just like that, I decided to transform the lovely colored Dragon Fruit into something else. I told Huda, if I managed to 'makeover' this fruit into something else, then she'll get to taste it and so she had her share yesterday. Alhamdulillah she likes it. Thanks to Ummi the marvellous and popular food blogger in Kuantan, for sharing this recipe with us. There are a few changes in the recipe though. Allow me to share it here for the reading pleasure of other. Thank you...

Anyway, I had not been updating this blog for quite sometime and was told to put up a new entry soonest possible by Shabnam, my sister in Malawi. Yes madam!!!

Alhamdulillah the Peperiksaan Menengah Rendah is over for my son yesterday. A great relief to me, for the time being that is. Now, I can just pray for the best. What's done can't be undone. Yesterday after the last paper, I brought Syahmi and Iddin to KFC for a treat. We had a lovely time there. And at night, Iddin's family took Syahmi out to Coffee Bean just to hang out! What a way to celebrate the temporary independence! Hahaha....

Naseem's Caramel Pudding

T.H.E R.A.M.B.L.I.N.G.S

Thousands and millions apologies to all. I have been neglecting my blog for quite sometime now. Not on purpose but time is not on my side. And this time it's not just excuses but for real. I was busy baking cookies to fulfill the orders. Not that I have thousands and thousands of cookies to bake, but I started late, and this is what I get. I am still with my bad habit...doing things at last minute basis. When will I change? Maybe...when the time is right! Hahaha...

I really miss blog hopping and looking at all the yummy food you guys had created with love. Hopefully when everything is over, I'd be able to visit all of you. In the meantime, I just wish all of you a very good health and may you and your family be in Allah's mercy for always... take care

Bread Pudding with Chocolate Sauce

A very good morning everyone... I hope all are fine and cheerful to start another chapter of life today. May your day today be as pleasant as possible....

For the ladies... how would you feel, if you have to drive a car with your husband sitting next to you? Especially for the very first few times? At night? Would you feel nervous, panic or just relax?

For this month, Syahmi's tuition class is from, 8.15 pm to 10.15 pm. On Monday, hubby had sent and fetched him from his class and of course, dear wifey will tag along, just to give him company and for a night ride. On Tuesday, I had to send Syahmi to class because hubby came late from office. He came back just in time to fetch Syahmi home. Told him that we have to go fetch Syahmi. I thought he'd say... pass me the car keys, but instead he said... let's go. I'll give you company. GIVE ME COMPANY? Oh ohhhh that doesn't sound good to me. Trying my luck, I hand him the car keys, I was out of luck I guess. He said, "You drive. I'll just follow and keep you company". Huhuhuhu..... I don't have any choice but to drive with him sitting at the passenger's seat. I was nervous. I guess I wasn't this nervous when I went for my driving test or when I drove my dad! But alhamdulillah all went well and I didn't speed. Hahaha... Mama was such a pemandu berhemah!

Yesterday night, again, I drove with a co-driver sitting next to me. Only this time, slightly confident, and the speed meter is showing a slight increase in the reading... ahaks... What about tonight? Let's just wait and see!

I am now in the 'house-spring-clean' mode. So I will spend less time infront of the laptop and more time sweating! Though it's a tiring job, but the end result is satisfying, to me, at least! Hahaha....
