Water disruption? Grrrrrrr......... read about it here

Let's go vegetarian.... hahaha... The pecal paste had been in my fridge for quite a while. Before it rots, I might as well do something about it. So here's the end result....

Pizza Stuff Crust

What a busy week last week! It's school holidays, that's why! I had my complete family with me. Busy going vacation mama? Huhuhu...how I wish for that! Now, the word vacation is more like a dream I guess...

The whole of last week, I was busy being a driver, a cook, a housekeeper and a caretaker. Not forgetting a wife and a mom! All in one... and it wasn't easy but hey, look at the bright side, gave me plenty chances to sweat and practise my 'vocal'! Hahaha.... Fatin wanted to go for Additional Maths, Physics and Chemistry's tuition. Alhamdulillah managed to find the teachers who are willing to help. She had two sessions, from 9am till 11am and again from 3pm till 6 pm. And for Syahmi, I was the one who made him go for his Maths tuition from 8pm till 10 pm. I doubt it if he'll ask for tuition! Hahaha... boys will be boys.... sorry boys!!! Hahaha....

Despite being tired running here and there doing extra chores, I am happy actually. I get to cook and bake a bit more as my Fatin was quite willing to eat this time round! She'll eat and eat as much as she could but towards the end, she'll blame her weight on me! But honestly girl, I don't mind a bit! Hahaha.... And when Fatin is around, one of the menu will be bread. I made a pizza from the leftovers of the spagetti sauce. This time, I tried a recipe of pizza dough from Sis Nani Rostam's Blog . Thank you sis for sharing this recipe with us... I will paste the whole recipe for pizza here, but what I actually tried was the pizza base. The topping was just plain...leftovers of spagetti sauce, slice hotdogs and mozarella cheese. My kids just like it that way... They don't really like 'crowded' pizza...but mama on the other hand, likes it as crowded as possible! Hahaha.....

Pizza Stuff Crust

Dough Base :

1/2 tsp dry yis (mauripan)
60ml UHT milk
45 ml lukewarm water
1tsp sugar
1tsp plain flour

180g plain flour
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 tablespoon margarine

Filling :

2 - 3 tbsp tomato paste

Slice thinly :

1/2 red capsicum
1/2 green capsicum
1 Bombay onion, sliced thinly into rings
2 chicken sausages, sliced
1 can of button mushroom sliced
3-4 slices beef pepperoni
200g grated mozzarella cheese
Dash of ground black pepper
Dash of Italian Herbs

To Make dough base, sprinkle yeast granules over lukewarm water. Add a sprinkling of sugar an a little flour and set aside for about 10 - 12 minutes.

Sift flour into mixing bowl. Add sugar nd salt to mix. make a well in the centre, pour in the frothy yeast mixture and add in the milk. Mix together and knead until a smooth dough is formed. Leave aside and cover with a damp tea towel.

When the dough doubles in size, punch down the dough and leave aside again for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove dough onto lightly floured surface. Roll out dough into a round piece about 3mm thick. Put the piece of round flat dough onto a lightly greased baking tray. Prick the base of the dough with a fork.

Brush the base of the dough with the tomato paste. Spread the sliced vege around the dough. Add sliced sausage and ham and sprinkle liberally with grated mozarella cheese. Sprinkle with ground black pepper and Italian herbs.

Bake pizza in a preheated oven at 180'C for about 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown in colour. Remove pizza from oven, cut with a pizza cutter and serve immediately.

Pizza Stuff Crust

Bahan-bahan untuk doh :

1/2 sudu kecil yis
60ml susu segar
45 ml air suam
1 sudu kecil gula
1 sudu kecil tepung gandum

180g tepung gandum
1/2 sudu kecil gula
1/2 sudu kecil garam
1/2 sudu besar majerin

Kaedah penyediaan doh :

1. Taburkan yis di atas air suam. Tambahkan gula dan sedikit tepung gandum. Biarkan yis bertindakbalas, lebih kurang 10 hingga 12 minit.

Order from S3Norita.Thanks Ita....

And by the way, thank you to Yatt for inspiring me with the teddy bear design. It's not Yatt's fault if my teddies' looks are not even 1% close to her teddies! Hahaha....siapa boleh lawan Yatt punya drawing and creativeness.... cayalahhhh....

Keeping myself busy...

Yuuu huuu.... where has mama gone to? Has she gone to London to see the Queen? Ohoho... how I wish... at least, the London part, if not to see the Queen. Ahaks... You know why I'd like to go to London? Well, the first time I set foot in London, about 8 years back, was during our transit from Africa to Malaysia. We had taken that route as hubby iwas really determined to go home for Eid, that time, by hook or by crook! And of all the dates in a years' calender, we just had to land in London during Christmas Eve! Yes, it was cold, but I like it...ahak ahak... hehehe.... The part that I am not that happy was, all the shops were closed. And the next day was Christmas, even worst. It was like a ghost town. Thank God, the bus rides were operating. So we took the double decker bus ride and went round London and we enjoyed the ride and sight seeing.... alhamdulillah... Oppss... there I go again...down memory lane huh?

Where was I just now? Oh yes, where have I been.... well, I was a bit busy with cakes and cupcakes order and my mom is not feeling well. She had to go to the hospital for check up on Wednesday and Thursday. So she stayed at my brother's house in Bangi. My brother took her on Wednesday and planned to send her back here by Saturday or latest Sunday. He just wanted me to take a break. But then, on Friday, my mom was not in a good condiition and I asked him to send her back so that she can be on her Oxygen Machine. Hope she'll recover soon... Amin....

And here are the cake and cupcakes I made for Kencana Desa. Thank you sis for your trust and for your positive feedback... ni yang buat tambah bersemangat nih.... ahakss....

Happy Birthday to Kencana Desa's son...

Made these for my neighbour Ita's son's birthday last 15th March. Happy birthday Dzakry!

And these were for Ainul and Iskandar... my apologies, for not being able to attend your kenduri. Mak Long dare not leave my mom at home for long with the kids...

And for Cikgu Nona Asiah, my cousin, thank you for acting as my delivery lady.... ahakss.... orang berbudi, kita berbahasa, orang dah tolong buat delivery, kita kenalah bagi gak dia rasa... hihiihi.....

To Kak Sawiyah, if you're reading this entry, jangan jeles aaa... next time akak tolong buat delivery, kita pun leh bagi akak rasa! Hahahaha.... just kidding!

Kue Tiau Soup

I'm glad I shared the story of cupcakes with all of you. At least you guys don't have to learn the lesson the hard way. Haha... How come I didn't think about the consequences before ya? Mmm I guess, it's because, nobody had told me about it before, that's why!

Anyway, last Tuesday morning, I received a call from a close friend asking me, why I didn't reply to the sms she sent me the night before. Told her that I didn't get any sms from her on either phone. She wanted me to make for her a rainbow pudding for her hubby's birthday and will pick it up on her way back from work. And as usual, Mama will always say yes without even looking at the recipe first ! ....mama kan selalu je yakin boleh... belasah je.... hehehe.... But with this recipe, I am quite confident as I've done it before. The only part that I wasn't sure of was how am I going to put the words HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABA BUCUK on top of the pudding. She had suggested to write it on a piece of melted cooking chocolate. OOKAYYY... but how should I do it? Fret later mama, I said. Let's just make the pudding first. Once the pudding was setting in the fridge, I started on the chocolate. Don't really know how, but mama just redah jer!!!! And here was the end product.....

Alhamdulillah, the feedback that I got from her family is a satisfactory. Thanks Lea for always trusting in me and for always making me gabrah! Happy birthday Lan!! Don't worry, it's just a number okay! Hahaha... And since quite a few visitors had asked me for the Rainbow Pudding, well, you can find the recipe in The Rainbow Pudding entry ya...

Recipe to share today is my simple Kue Tiau soup. Cooked this a few days back when we're tired eating rice.... psst... not that reason actually, it's me who is tired of cooking the dishes... hahaha.. Anyway, we need variety right? Hahaha.. good excuse huh? And wallah... mom enjoyed the meal.. alhamdulillah....

The story of my cupcakes

As you all know, I baked and decorate cupcakes just for my own pleasure and to make those who ordered happy as well. Like I always said..
.....hope you'll enjoy the cupcakes as much as I've enjoyed preparing them...

But recently, I had a cancellation of order from Qistina's mom. She had ordered 50 pieces cupcakes to bring to Qistina's kinder on the 2nd and another 50 pieces for Damia, Qistina's sister on the 6th. She cancelled the order for Damia after I made these for Qistina....

You must be wondering why? Do the cupcakes taste yucky? Or the design is horrible? Aha...according to her, both are not the actual reason. She cancelled the order to avoid headache! Hahaha. It seems, when she sent the cupcakes for Qistina, it had caused havoc in the class. The kids wanted their favourite design! Huhuhu.. So for Damia, she just treated them with KFC. To Qistina and Damia's mom, please accept my sincere apologies....

Lesson learnt : When preparing cupcakes for young kids, stick to the same design!

Yesterday, for the first time, I had my chance to try decorating a cake using edible image. I was so excited. Though the end result was far from great, but I am happy. Afterall, I have to start somewhere....Thank you Cikgu Sherina for ordering and a happy birthday to Emir.

And to Shahnaz, thank you for ordering....

Orange Cake

I guess I am in for writing today! I've just finished updating MamaFaMi's Journey of Life and boy...did I write! Hahaha... Hope Mak Teh is happy with my ramblings! Well, it's not only her who said they want to read more but a few others. Layman had left a comment in one of my entries, asking why I don't reply to all the comments left in my blogs. My sincere apologies to all of you for not replying to your comments. It's just that time is normally not on my side nowadays. I had to 'steal' some of my bedtime to update the pages. But I think, I have to lessen that unhealthy habit as well, now that I kept experiencing giddiness plus I sweat easily. My aunt told me to check my sugar level and I did it this morning. It was near to perfect I guess. 5.8 (fasting). Only my blood pressure is slightly not normal today. It was 141/83 with pulse rate of 65. Yes, eversince my parents came to stay with us, we have these gadgets with us. To monitor them and now me! Hahahahaa.... I guess I am the nurse cum the patient as well! Easy said... I am ALL IN ONE!!! Hihihi..... May Allah give me strength and good health to carry out my responsibilities... amin....

Yesterday I thought I could do without baking, but my willpower is not that strong... Daku kecundang jua akhirnya... All thanks to Muna .... sampai hatimu Muna, mendera diri ku ini.... Well, it's from her links that I got hooked to the Perwakilan The Hague's Page! After saying a few NO NO NOs to myself, I finally settled for one recipe first! Hahahaa... which means, there'll be many more to come! It was 9pm when I made these cupcakes. Actual recipe is to bake one whole cake, but I just gambled and made them into cupcakes. Walla.... it turned out LOVELY and surely this recipe is a keeper! The cupcakes were ready just in time for me to bring for Syahmi's tuition teacher and also to serve my aunt and uncle when they came to do my mom's dressing. Managed to ice a few cupcakes. I had always wanted to ice them that way, but then it didn't turn out the way I want it to be. I have to think of something else... later... or maybe....never... hahahaha..... Thanks to Muna and Perwakilan The Hague for sharing this wonderful recipe with all of us....
And oh.. yesterday was the first time I drove at night, alone... just for my record... hihihi.....
