Haiyeee... I'm here.. purposely didn't say, I'm back or otherwise people will think I'm back to stay, which I can't really promise! Hahaha...
So did you guys have a wonderful Eid-Ul-Adha? I had a wonderful time...going nowhere... doing nothing... and above all, cooking nothing! All we did was just lazying around in the house... watching TV, playing games, surfing the net and me... reading my story book! FINALLY I managed to finish reading Pretty Woman by Fern Michaels. Took ages for me to finish one book! Huhuhu... time is one reason but then the main reason is, I kept dozing off everytime I finished reading one page!!! Huhuhuhu.... Anyway, now I am starting on my newly bought novel... YES BOSS by Areila Sahimi... yessszaaa.....
T.H.E R.E.C.I.P.E
I still can't get my mind off Roti Manis's bread production. They looked so gorgeous and so yummilicious that I feel like licking the laptop screen! I had to do something! And actually I did. But since the end product looked something like the Jaw's teeth, I don't feel like putting up the photo. Yesterday I baked another batch and this time, it looked much better! Hahaha... less scary if you ask me... It was a bread recipe by Roshayati Johari, which I've tried years back. But this one was altered slightly by the proud owner of Roti Manis, Puan Liza Othman

Ingredients :
1 egg
Approximately 200g lukewarm water (egg + water = 265g)
120g sugar
6g salt
5g bread softener
500g bread flour/high protein flour
20g milk powder
5g bread improver
11g instant dried yeast
80g margarine
Cream cheese filling
Bread maker method :
1. Into the breadmaker pan, pour in the water and egg. Add sugar, salt and bread softener.
2. Top it with flour, milk powder, bread improver and instant dried yeast.
3. Set the bread maker to DOUGH setting and press start. When the dough is just combined, add in margarine. Leave the bread maker to finish the cycle which takes about 1 1/2 hour or so.
4. Remove the dough from the pan and divide the dough into 20 equal portions. Roughly about 49 to 50g each.
5. Form each portion into a ball and arrange on a baking tray. Leave to rise for another 30 minutes or so.
6. Before baking, brush the dough with some fresh milk and use a scissor to cut the top of the dough.
7. Pipe some blueberry filling on top and cream cheese filling.
8. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180c for 20 to 25 minutes or till golden brown.
9. Once out of the oven, brush with a bit of butter. Place on a wire rack to cool. Keep in an airtight container.
Have a nice day!
