Kuih Bakar


Hello everyone. I have been pretty busy lately with cupcakes and tart shells orders. The amount wasn't as much as other peoples' but being a slow coach and not an expert, I do take time to prepare them. Slowly but surely *wink*. Will put up the photos of what I've been doing for the past few days in my upcoming entries. For this time, let me just post this recipe. Tried this recipe a long time ago when Farina told me about it. Forgotten to post in the blog until I saw her Kuih Bakar in her lastest entry. Thank you Farina for sharing the simple and lovely recipe... For those who wish to try this easy to prepare kuih, here is the recipe....




KUIH BAKAR
Source : Salt N Turmeric

Ingredients :

2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup pandan juice or (1 teaspoon pandan paste + 1/2 cup water)
3/4 to 1 cup flour
400 ml coconut milk
3 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon butter
toasted sesame seeds

Method :

1. Pre heat oven to 180 C (360 F)
2. Blend all the above ingredients, except sesame seeds, in a blender.
3. Butter the pan and pour the mixture into it.
4. Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds on top.
5. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

  12. farina pun memang tunggu lepas buat post untuk foodbuzz baru letak recipe. Memang senang dibuat and senang dimakan kuih bakar ni kan? my neighbour's kid sampai datang rumah mintak i buatkan kuih bakar untuk dia! lol.

  18. assalamualaikum mamafami..ini kuih fav sy sejak kecil..masa kecik2 dulu selalu buat tapi sekarang memang beli jer..paling best kuih bakar kat sempadan tampin,n9, kalau makan memang tak ingat dunia. ni dah ada resepi bolehlah sy cuba...

    Kalau my mom naik shekh buat kuih bakaq, everyweek kita kena makan kuih ni. Maybe that's the reason Muna tak masak ulang tayang... trauma kuih bakaq!!

    ps...lama tak sembang nooo...hardly find time in between rushing to school, cari rumah, kemaih rumah...tapi weekend mrDudwey tetap bawak pi garden for my projek tembak menembak...xoxo Muna

  21. Mamafami,kalau ada sesame seed yg belum toosted, kira just goreng tanpa minyak dlm kuali or bakar dlm oven ? ke tak kisah asal garing sket². Tapi kalau guna yg belum toasted jadi tak sedap la ye?

    Alhamdulillah kami sekeluarga sihat walafiat. Kuih ni memang enak dan senang untuk disediakan... cubalah ye...

    Oh... merantau rupanya. But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy this kuih. It's very easy to prepare and the ingredients can be substituted. Contohnya, kalau susah atau mahal nak beli santan, you can always use fresh milk. As for the pandan, kalau tak ada, ganti je la vanila or whatever paste/essence. Daripada tak dapat makan langsung, baiklah kita adjust mana mana yang patut, ye tak....

    Muahahaha... hang pun ada trauma kuih ye... Tapi memang pun kan... kalau dah hari hari disogok kuih yang sama, mau gak muka kita pun dah ropa acuan kuih bakar tu! Hihihihi.... Me too, busy lately. Rasanya lepas ni nak relax lepak-lepaklah kot....wah.. berangan baikkkk punya! Amboi, weekend ada programme baa baa chak balik pokok ye!

    Ya, goreng aje tanpa minyak dalam kuali atau bakar sebentar di dalam oven. Kalau guna yang tak toasted, tak berapa umph!

    Mama beli pandan paste kat kedai bakery supplies. Tapi kalau tak ada, boleh gunakan esen pandan dengan pewarna hijau. Ataupun kalau rajin, boleh aje di blend daun pandan dengan sedikit air, ambil jusnya, lagiiiiii power! Mama ni, sebab over rajin, tu sebab guna pandan paste je!

  24. ma, mokwo dah buat kuih bakar guna resepi nih...awat jadik cayaq semacam. mokwo lak guna pati santan yg di perah...so akhirnye buh lagik 1 cawan tepung baru ok..rasenye memang sedap!!!!

  25. Hi Mamafami, i dah buat kuih bakar ni tapi bile dibakar kuihnye gelembung tinggi tak turun-turun pun and bila dipotong nampak lah gap antara isi dengan kulit atas dan yg bahgian bawah plak tak flat, ade pe2 yg salah ke sewaktu membakar and baking tray size ape yg sesuai?

    Hi Siz Maria. Rasanya kalau menggelembung tu, mungkin Siz letakkan tray tu dekat sangat dengan rod oven tu kot...

    Hi Rossie...What happened to your kuih bakar? Can't deny that quite a number of my visitors didn't get a good result when trying this recipe. I am not sure why. But perhaps, you could try and adjust the amount of flour. I had used the kuih bakar mould to prepare mine...
