Sup Tulang



SUP TULANG

1. Wash the steak bones/oxtail/ribs/shins. Put into the pressure cooker with some water and spices wrapped in a muslin cloth or you can just use the 'sup bunjut' from Malaysia. Sup bunjut is a readymade wrapped spices.
2. Pound some shallots together with ginger and garlic. Heat the oil and fry the pounded ingredients till fragrant.
3. Pour into the pressure cooker. Secure the lid and put on the stove.
4. When the pressure cooker starts releasing the steam (plus the LOUD noise ), leave it like that for about 20 minutes or so. Then off the fire, let the steam out and open the lid.
5. Add in potatoes and boil till potatoes are slightly soft. Add salt, tomatoes, sliced onion and green chillies.
6. When serving, sprinkle some chopped spring onions and fried onions. Nice to eat either with bread or rice! What can be simpler and tastier than that!

    Waalaikumussalam Noorsha. Mama buat sup tulang ni pun pasal Syahmi dah banyak kali request. Mama dia je yang asyik dok tangguh. Kesian pulak kat dia. Nak masaknya sangatlah senang, tapi yang buat malas nak masak tu pasal malas nak keluarkan pressure cooker mama yang tinggi tu. Nak masak ciput je... hehehe...

    Hello Joyce. If you don't have the ready made Sup Bunjut, then you can always make one your own. Cut a muslin cloth to the size 8 in x 8 in should do the trick. Then place the rinsed spices inclusive of (roughly estimated) 2 tablespoons corriander seeds , 2 cardamons, 1 star anise, 3 cloves and 1 inch cinnamon stick. Wrap the muslin cloth tightly and boil it together with the minced ingredients plus the meat till tender. Hope this helps!
