Chocolate Bun

CHOCOLATE BUN

Ingredients :
Ingredients A :

500 g bread flour
30 g milk powder
20 g cocoa powder
100 g sugar
11 g instant yeast
1 whole egg

Ingredients B :

250 ml water
80 g margarine

Method :

1. Mix well ingredients A.
2. Add in water and knead till a soft dough is formed. (I called upon my antique but still reliable mixer to help me with this process!)
3. Add in margarine and knead again till soft and elastic.
4. Divide the dough into 50g balls.
5. Shape the dough to your liking.
6. Leave to prove till double the size.
7. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree celcius till golden brown.
8. Once out of the oven, brush some margarine on top.

Thanks Kak Liza for the recipe!

  10. gebus nya choc bun tu. high protein flour masih ada stock kat umah...expiry date end dec ni, elok bebenor le.. nanti nak buat roti jugalah.... . masa nak beli tepung tu semangat berkobar-kobar nak buat roti, alih-alih asyik beli roti ready made je..... mesti buat juga ni! kalau tak membazir jadinya.

  16. Hi Mama,

I tried this recipe today, it turned out well and nice, just enuff chocolate; it was my first time baking bread; so i dare to say this recipe is idiot proof Ha2.

Immediately after my success with the chocolate bun, based on the same recipe, minus the chocolate, i made some sweet buns, it turned out nice as well; i sprinkled some slice almonds and sugars on top with egg wash. It was a success too.

Thank you so much for sharing!

    Beatrice
