Our gateaway and mom's surprise

Hi everyone! I'm back from a short vacation. 

~ Mr Hubby needs a break from his work

~ My girl needs to 'run away' from her assignments and course work for a while...

~ My mom can enjoy new environment *story to follow*

and YOURS TRULLY... just love to tag along! Hahahaha....

Hubby had asked me to have a look at the brochure he brought back from office. He told me to call up the numbers written and ask them the available dates, during weekends, before the school holiday starts. And the only dates available was last week. I confirmed the booking and started planning a surprise for my mom.

Actually my sister and I had wanted to do this since last year but the time wasn't right for both of us. Infact, we didn't manage to get the perfect time to do this together this year, so I carried on with the plan on my own. We wanted to give our mom a surprise by asking her BFF (best friend forever), Hajjah Siti Hamidah to join us in this trip. Mr Hubby asked me to book 2 rooms, preferably side by side and alhamdulillah I managed to get them. 

I called Puan Hajjah Siti Hamidah and told her of our plan. She said she would love to be a part of our plan if her son is willing to send her to the hotel from Malacca. So I spoke to her son and he is more than willing to collaborate with us. Thank you Aboy.,,, jasamu akak kenang ye.... Lain kali boleh buat lagi!  Alhamdulillah Allah made it easy for us... maybe because for a good cause...

We started from home at around 4pm. Stopped by Fatin's house to pick her up and off to Lexis Port Dickson. It was raining heavily that time so Mr Hubby had to drive slow. We reached Lexis at around 5.30 pm. I went to the counter to check in. IT WAS MY FIRST TIME HANDLING THE CHECK IN! Hahahaha.... sorry guys... I was excited, my first time okay. Haha... bear with me! After that, we had to wait for mom's BFF to arrive. After a good 10 minutes, Puan Hajjah Siti Hamidah arrived at the lobby, to my mom's surprise. She still didn't get it. She thought her friend was there by coincidence until we reached our water chalet.... SURPRISEEEEE!!!!! 

They certainly had a wonderful time together, judging from their happy faces. We let them have the room to herself while Fatin stayed with us for one night. Alhamdulillah all are happy and I am the happiest because not only my plan is successful, but the food that I brought along was 90% finished! Alhamdulillah....

Mr Hubby and me were away last weekend. We went to TERATAK RIVERVIEW for team building. Hahaha.. just joking. It is more to self-esteem building for myself. Will tell you in a bit.

Actually Mr Hubby joined the reunion of his University. And he brought me along. After 30 years plus leaving the Uni, and this is the chance for  them to meet up. For this time, it is just meant for the guys only. It was such a pleasant scene to see how they hugged each other, joked around, laughed out loud and chatted. Once we reached the place, mrs wifeys will have to survive on their own. Make their own way around and befriends with the other wifeys, if they wish. Alhamdulillah I made new friends and had fun too.... 

Hi Kak Ana1, Kak Ana2,  Aida, Ros, Nazrin, Zainab, Kak Rohani, Dr Kamariah, Mazlina ... nice knowing all of you...panjang umur, insyaAllah jumpa lagi....

Actually this place is very good for team building programmes. These were among the many that had been here....

Okay now let me tell you why I said it is more to my SELF-ESTEEM BUILDING trip. I challenged myself to do this....

This was not me okay. This was one of hubby's friend taking his turn.

AND YES, I DID IT!!!! I DID THE FLYING FOX, 170M LENGTH. Good enough for a beginner like me. Hahaha...

Before doing the Flying Fox activity, we were given some briefings on safety equipment, how to wear them, and what we should and should not do. I was so anxious to know, what is the maximum weight that cable could hold. Hahahaha... When the instructor said that it can hold up to 2 tons.... well... I think I am a lot  lighter than 2 tons, at the moment! So yes, I am so happy and excited to do it. 

When we were geared up with the safety equipments, we have to cross the hanging bridge (in yellow) to get to the starting point which is way uphill. By the time we get to the top, we were quite out of breath. Rested a few minutes and I went first. Frankly speaking, when the instructor asked me to sit down for him to secure the lock, my heart started to pound. Then when he asked me to stand up and face the front, I was like...GULPPPP... AM I ACTUALLY GOING TO DO THIS??? But it was too late to turn back. I am all geared up, locked and just a push away. But I think, I managed to hide my fears brilliantly as the instructor asked me, you don't look scared at all! OMG, only Allah knows what is going on in this heart and mind of mine at that moment! Hahaha.... Then, when he asked me to be in the sitting position, legs off the platform, that's it! I AM ACTUALLY DOING THIS. With a light push, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I go! I CAN FLY! I CAN FLY! I CAN FLY!!!!!!! It was so much fun and thrilling at the same time. But it only last for less than 10 seconds. But the memories of that 10 seconds is so precious!

Raintree Beach Resort, Tuaran, Sabah (1)

Early this month, I was away with Mr Hubby to Sabah. He had an event to participate and since he will be in Sabah for a couple of days, he decided to bring his bodyguard along... and that will be ME! At first, I was reluctant to tag along as the hotel rates there are quite high. I feel it is not worth it to pay such big amount for me to just stay in the hotel while he's away. Mr Hubby didn't give up that easily. We looked up for other possible hotels preferably the one by the beach so that I can do something else besides being cooped up in the room. Alhamdulillah, it was written that I will be going with him and yes, we managed to get a room at RAINTREE BEACH RESORT in Tuaran Sabah, formerly known as MIMPIAN JADI RESORT. 

We arrived on the 2nd April, 2014 midnight. Nothing much to see then but what I can see was the place was occupied. There was an event held there earlier that week. We had booked for a challet but since all challets were taken, we were given a villa instead without having to pay extra. Lucky! Lucky! Lucky! We stayed there for 5 days. Yeah right.. quite a long vacation for us!

Langkawi 2013 - still day 1

Opps, such a long break after the first entry of Langkawi. Thousand apologies. I got carried away with the food entry and also an entry by accident... hahaha... maybe will write about that in my next post... just MAYBE, okay....

I didn't snap many photos of the air show, from the top of Permandangan Indah. I took just a few using my phone's camera. So I will only post this one photo that is the best among the lousy-s! Hahahaha...

When the air show is over for that day, we checked into the hotel and Syahmi went straight to bed. Poor kiddo! The three of us went to the 5th floor of the hotel, to the rooftop cafe. We had these, among the few others....

Around 6pm, hubby brought us by the seaside to watch the sunset. Masya Allah, such lovely sight!

And of course... dinner... Alhamdulillah....
