Long Beans with Tempe

LONG BEANS WITH TEMPE

Ingredients :

Tempe - diced
200g long bean, ends trimmed and cut to 1 inch length
2 tablespoons dried anchovies - soaked
1 tablespoon dried shrimps - soaked
2 fresh red chillie
3 garlic cloves - peeled
3 shallots - peeled
salt to taste
cooking oil

Method :

1. Fry tempe till golden brown and set aside.
2. Use a blender to grind the soaked anchovies and shrimps together with red chillie, cloves and shallots for a few seconds. Or you can just pound it.
3. Heat cooking oil in a wok and add in the blended paste. Fry till fragrant then add in salt to taste.
4. Put in the long beans together with a bit of water. Cover the wok for a few minutes till the beans are slightly cooked.
5. Add in the fried tempe and stir to mix well.
6. Remove from heat and ready to serve.
